Streamlining Procurement Committee Process using RPA Solution

Dubai Municipality is one of the largest government institutions in the United Arab Emirates and plays a key role in providing government services in the Emirate of Dubai. The Contracts and Procurement Department is a vital department that contributes to the provision of services through collaboration with suppliers and the private sector. This is particularly true considering the large volume of transactions and procurement—approximately 9,000 purchases last year, valued at AED 5 billion, with 30,000 suppliers participating in tenders. Procurement procedures were complex, resulting in significant waste of time, effort, and costs.
Therefore, it was necessary to develop a comprehensive system to drive progress, resulting in substantial improvements in Dubai Municipality's procurement processes in general, and in its decision-making committees in particular.
This was achieved by providing innovative solutions to overcome complex challenges and ensure the best possible results in procurement performance. This was achieved by launching a virtual employee to implement procurement procedures in the municipality using RPA technology. The project focused on reimagining the value propositions provided to customers by internal organizational units and suppliers, with the goal of providing more flexible and effective procurement services. Similarly, the Government Contracts Services Committee played a pivotal role in promoting digital innovation by implementing a pioneering digital transformation project, integrating a virtual employee based on RPA (Robotic Process Automation) technology. This innovation enabled the committee to achieve numerous benefits that contributed to improving performance and increasing efficiency in government procedures.
