Rachel Beyer is the Global Director of Teaching & Learning – Primary at OneSchool Global (OSG), where she leads the strategic development and alignment of primary education across 120+ campuses in 20 countries, serving close to 3,000 primary students.
Over the past eight years, Rachel has progressed through several senior primary leadership roles within OSG. She joined the organisation in 2018 as Regional Director of Teaching & Learning – Primary (UK), later expanding her remit to include Europe, leading primary strategy and alignment, and developing teaching capability across both regions, before progressing to her global role. Throughout her career, Rachel has led with a clear belief that strong primary education lays the foundation for lifelong learning, combining practical experience with evidence-informed practice to guide system-wide improvement.
Rachel’s leadership is guided by a simple belief: “Getting it right in primary shapes success in secondary school and life beyond.” This principle reflects OSG’s Learning to Learn (L2L) pedagogy, which structures curriculum delivery around Lesson, Study and Tutorial. Within this model, students gradually develop independence, reflection and responsibility for their own learning.
When Rachel first assumed global responsibility for primary education within OSG, many campuses operated largely independently. While strong work was taking place locally, significant variation existed in curriculum delivery, teaching practice and student experience across regions. The organisation’s global scale was not yet being fully leveraged to support collaboration or consistency.
Recognising this opportunity, Rachel initiated a strategic shift to strengthen alignment across Years 3-6. Her work focused on establishing clear pedagogical expectations, building stronger collaboration between regions and positioning primary education as a critical stage in the overall learning journey from Year 3 through to graduation.
Her vision is also informed by the changing demands of the future workforce. Research warns that 22% of the future workforce may lack essential employment skills, while many future roles will require collaboration, communication and problem-solving. Through initiatives such as the Primary Skills Framework and structured Study practices, Rachel has ensured these capabilities begin developing from the earliest primary years.
