Ramp's founder and former plumber, Brad McAuliffe, entered the poultry industry by delivering essential but unpopular services such as flock depopulations and shed cleaning, quickly scaling the business as demand grew.

A pivotal step came in 2016 when business adviser Laz Lekakis was engaged to establish the company's first entity, secure startup funding and build the operating structure for future growth. He joined Ramp as CFO in 2018.

As an experienced finance executive and strategic leader with more than 25 years' experience, Laz brings expertise in commercial lending, equipment finance, financial structuring, consulting and venture capital. His forward-looking approach bridges the gap between traditional accounting, which focuses on the past, and strategic finance, which anticipates the future.

After joining as CFO, Laz drove rapid expansion of a small poultry services business into a group of companies spanning strategy, finance, compliance, logistics, maintenance, HR, marketing, workforce planning and on-farm services.

Today, operating on a model of “decentralised ownership, centralised capability”, Ramp Advisory’s 16 entities form a vertically integrated, closed-loop ecosystem at a scale rarely achieved by an SME anywhere in the world.

In addition to their advisory and operational services, the group now also encompasses biosecurity and decontamination, egg grading, chick breeding, primary egg production (2022), poultry production (2026), farm management software (26/27) and liquid egg products soon to reach supermarket shelves.
