Dwayne J. Clark: Redefining Health, Wellness, and Purpose Across the Aging Journey

Dwayne J. Clark is the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Aegis Living, an assisted living and memory care organization serving older adults across Washington, California, and Nevada. For nearly four decades, Clark has studied the factors that help people maintain vitality, independence, purpose, and quality of life as they age. He has applied those insights to senior living, public education, philanthropy, and workplace culture.
Throughout his career, Clark has helped develop more than 250 senior living communities and influenced the lives of more than 80,000 older adults and their families. Today, he leads more than 3,000 Aegis Living employees across 37 communities.
Through Aegis Living, Clark has advanced a holistic approach to health and wellness that considers physical care alongside emotional wellbeing, social connection, cognitive engagement, nutrition, movement, personal purpose, and belonging. This philosophy is reflected in personalized care and wellness plans, onsite therapy, fitness and movement opportunities, varied dining programs, social activities, educational experiences, and specialized memory care.
Clark also supports programs designed to promote employee health and wellbeing, including preventive healthcare, mental health resources, wellness tools, leadership development, financial wellness, and assistance during personal emergencies.
In 2025, Clark brought his healthy-aging advocacy to a national audience by co-authoring “The Miracle Morning After 50: A Proven Path to Joy, Vitality, and Purpose for Aging Adults” with Hal Elrod. The book became a USA Today bestseller and presents practical strategies to help adults strengthen their physical, mental, emotional, and purposeful wellbeing during the second half of life.
Clark’s leadership is grounded in the belief that aging should not be defined solely by decline or limitation. He continues to encourage individuals, families, employees, and the senior living profession to view health as a lifelong foundation for growth, connection, resilience, and possibility.
